FINGERPRINTS!!!

To most people, getting your fingerprints taken is not normally a happy thing, but to us, it's one step closer to Courtney! It's a necessary step in applying to immigration to get approval to bring a child home from another country. We received our fingerprint notice last week... but the appointment wasn't supposed to be till October 30th. That just seemed to far out in the future for me, so we decided to chance it and go to the local USCIS office yesterday and see if they'd let us walk in. Well, it's not normally allowed here... but, since Courtney is waiting on us, they let us!!!! Come on approval letter!!!

We have all our documents now except our home study and USCIS approval (we'll get our notarized copy of our home study when we get our approval). Here are the documents (this is minus Scott's birth certificate which just came back from the Chinese Consulate in Washington DC today)...

In other news, today finally felt like Fall... and tomorrow will be cooler. What a wonderful change from the 100 degree heat we were feeling last week (with heat index). We had to take out the pants and jackets today... Here's Katelyn modeling her shirt and jeans that Grandma embroidered for her.

She proudly told EVERYONE she met today that Grandma gave her her jeans and shirt... and that she loves her Grandma!!!

Here are a couple of pics of Katelyn with her friends... dressing up is always fun!!!

I should have LOTS more pics to share after this week... We're having a mini reunion of sorts. Several families that adopted children from Katelyn's orphanage are coming down here this week. The children were all friends at the orphanage. I have pics of Katelyn with all of them. Most of us parents have never met, and the kids haven't seen each other in well over a year. We have no clue if they'll remember each other... they have all changed sooooo much over this past year. I am really looking forward to this!!!! See you soon Kim, Angela, Caroline and Cory!!!!!! Can't wait to see our kids all together and finally meet you!!!
